AI Flow
It’s no secret that AI is everywhere and moving fast. Is it all hype or is it the answer to all our problems?
When the dust settles I think we’ll find ourselves in the middle.
In my experience, AI works well in the development space when you know what you want it to do. You need to have a plan before you start writing code, just like before!
Personally, I like GitHub Copilot. I think the workflow guides you to use AI in a responsible way, starting with planning mode to get my thoughts in order.
Once I know what I want to do I switch to Spec Kit. If you’ve never used it, I highly recommend looking into it. Spec Kit will create a plan and tasks in markdown files - readable by both people and the next round of AI.
Recently I learned about VS Code support for git worktrees and background agents. I’m excited to try that. I think those new features can help with quick prototyping.
